5NA 710 [2022]

[with Maria Margolina] The six newly arranged floodlights from the Munich Olympic Stadium function as a display for a specially developed light composition. Based on the idea of the stadium spotlight as an observer of the events of 5th September 1972, the installation attempts to explore the attack by the Black September terrorist organisation instead of the traumatised individuals from the perspective of the seemingly inanimate artefact. The point of reference for the arrangement and switching of the spotlights is the exchange of fire between the Munich police and the terrorists at the airfield in Fürstenfeldbruck. The formations are oriented towards tactical manoeuvres as well as errors that occurred during the battle between 10.18 pm and 1.32 am. The activation took place at 3.38 p.m. each day during the exhibition "I Did Not See It Coming" at Lothringer 13 Halle, Munich.
