*1994 in Bad Tölz, DE

Martin Huber's practice focuses on spaces in transformation, which he explores through a variety of media including painting, sound, photography and sculpture. His approach is often oriented towards the respective location and incorporates ethnographical and research-based approaches. Sound as a weapon and instrument of spatial order, which he further persued as part of the sound collective DAF [Dynamische Akustische Forschung], as well as sonorous [urban] environments play a role in his artistic investigations, as does architecture with its capacity to form bodies. In the architectural context, he also includes questions dealing with collective memory. Furthermore, Martin Huber curates lectures, workshops and reading groups and is fundamentally interested in [creating] platforms for interdisciplinary exchange, which can be theory- as well as very practice-oriented. Collective action and rituals, especially in relation to the use of fire and food, are significant engagements for him - with the culinary sphere of places, the expressions associated with it, and food as a discursive medium.
